International Relations Office

The International Relations Office ("Functional Domain Internationalisation") operates within the University Service for Education and Research. It consists of a number of specific teams, which are listed below.

Frederik De Decker is the head of the Functional Domain Internationalisation.

Team International Admissions

Assists international students applying to Ghent University by providing information on admission, enrolment, and study options, and by processing their applications. 

Team leader: Thomas Buerman.

Team International Mobility

Supports internationalisation in education. Manages exchange grants and mobility. Guides students, graduates and staff going abroad. Maintains mobility partnerships worldwide. 

Team leader: Geneviève Cochez.

Team International Support

Supports international students before arrival and throughout their stay, helping with visas, housing, orientation, academics, and cultural adjustment.  

Team leader: Thomas Buerman.

Team EU International Education Project & Financial management

Supports academics, administrators, study programmes, Faculties and University services in their participation in EU-funded international collaborative education projects, both in the pre- and post-award phases, through advice and guidance on policy, content, contractual and financial matters. 

Team leader: Andries Verspeeten.

Team Regional Platforms

Offers support, facilities and advice about cooperation with partners in six focus regions.
